Download a free port forwarding software like PFConfig from its official website. Save the downloaded file to an easily accessible location in your computer. Once logged in, click to highlight the Applications & Gaming tab. click on the Port Range Forward sub tab and you will be presented with the Port Range screen. Since it is a manual configuration, you should know what port numbers to enter in the required fields. Select either TCP or UDP protocols or both under the Protocol dropdown menu. Click to check the Enable box next to each port forwarding application.

Enter the IP (internet protocol) address for each forwarded port in the IP Address box. It is to be noted that IP address will remain the same for all the forwarded ports. If you don’t know what your computer’s IP address is, use this method. Click on the Start menu and navigate to Run. Type ‘cmd’ in the blank field and hit Enter on the keyboard. When the Command Prompt window comes up, type ‘ipconfig’ and the press Enter. It will bring up the IP address details of your computer. Note them down on a piece of paper and then enter in the respective field. You can also check the IP address through whatismyip.com website.

When done, review all the settings, modify them if not correct, and then click on the Save Settings button to save the changes. Exit the router’s interface and other windows too. Your router is ready for use in online gaming or networking among other things.
