How to Keep Your Confidence When Your Skin Has Problems - By: Rosie Wallace

Whether it's acne, a rash or another skin disorder, it can not only have physical results such as excessive itching or burning, but it also can psychologically be very upsetting. We identify often too much with only our physical appearance and can want to hide or avoid situations if our skin is not at it's best. Acne and rashes can also be chronic or recurring which makes this something that can last a while.

First of all, get a few opinions on your skin situation. If your doctor isn't helping you get a second opinion. Research also any supplements that may help your skin. If you use the internet, be aware that there are marketers that will endorse products that they may not be familiar with. Be sure to see if there is good feedback or that the products have a money back guarantee that can protect you. To feel frustrated with your skin plus be broke is not a good state and will just add to your stress.

Relaxation is also important for both your inner state and also even your skin. When you are relaxed your sleep is better, your immune system is stronger and your circulation improves. All this is helpful for the skin. But more importantly, keeping your mind calm should be a high priority. Take the challenges of your skin as a growth opportunity to be able to take yourself less seriously, have a sense of humor and keep perspective. Whatever is happening with your skin is not going to kill you and there are many people that would be envious due to having a deteriorating illness. Gratitude isn't easy when you feel that your friends have it better, but there is still so much to be grateful about. Remember these
things each day. Also, skin problems may be a way to get you to not judge everything on the surface. This will be helpful in making you more caring, reflective and a better person.

Of course, you still should get medical advice, research holistic approaches and look for ways to improve your skin, but do not base your self-esteem on appearance.
