How to Get Over Your Ex Before Getting Them Back - By: D.A. Campbell

What is the one mistake far too many people have made when it comes to breaking up with their ex? It is the belief that they cannot go on without the other person. Relationship wise it doesn't get anymore wrong than that.

True they have invested much time and emotion into making the relationship work. More than likely so did the other person. That's why things were so special between the two of them. It is also why when the breakup occurs they lament that they will never meet another person like that ever again.

Wrong again. No you will not meet someone who is special exactly like your ex. That's because the new person will be special in their own way. It is no better or worse than your ex; just different.

Still you have made the decision that you want your ex back. You want the special that only they can give. Everything felt so right with them that you want to experience again, Rekindle the romance and continue to build on what the two of you shared.

To do that however you are going to have to grieve properly.

1. Blues Night

Find your favorite sad songs and play them to you hearts content. Cry, get angry and then cry some more. Now move on. Blues night is not meant to be done everyday for the rest of your life or even the rest of the month. The first time around you can do it for as long as you like. After that the time should become less and less until it fades into non existence.

2. Party Time

You are not celebrating your breakup. What you are doing is celebrating you. There are so many good things about you. Write them down and hold a party for each one. It is not about bragging it is about accepting the truth as well as reaffirming your self worth.

3. Someone Else

One of the best ways to feel better about you and your situation is go out there and help someone else. Call your family and friends and find out what's going on in their lives. Maybe they need a shoulder to cry on or someone to share a laugh with. Taking the focus off you can go a long way to making you feel better.
