How to Fix Your Broken Blackberry Storm Screen Easily - By: J.J. Yong

Do you know what true love feels like? Get a Blackberry Storm and you'll soon find out! If you've got yourself this amazing phone then you would know why it's such a hit in the telecommunication market today. With so many features and applications that are enough to 'wow' you, this phone is a sure value for money product, without a doubt. Having said this, there's no doubting that when you're a proud owner of such a great phone, you would make it your priority to take good care and see that no harm comes to this little digital baby, right?

Well, accidents are inevitable sometimes and since the Blackberry has got a LCD screen, if it falls or gets hit, chances are the screen is the first thing that will spoil or break. If by a stroke of bad luck, your Blackberry screen gets damaged, don't start freaking out because, one, it can easily be replaced and two, you only need to spend to buy the screen because you can save service charges and replace the part yourself.

What you've got to do first is get the replacement screen, you can either purchase it from a regular mobile repair shop or you can do a little research and check out online mobile stores and IT stores and see if you can get the replacement part for a cheaper price. There are many online stores with a range of prices for you to pick from, so choose wisely and make the purchase. When you've got the LCD screen already, check the item and make sure it has no cracks and that it matches your Blackberry model.

Now you get down to the serious business! To replace the screen you first need to remove the damaged one, so to do this you need to remove the silver piece around it that holds it in place. With a flathead screwdriver, gently insert the edge into the earpiece and twist until you hear a slight crack. The silver piece would be movable, but it won't come off yet. You have to pry the edges loose with the screwdriver, it would be advised that once it's slightly lifted from the mobile unit, slip a folded piece of paper between the silver piece and the phone so that you don't scratch the phone with the screwdriver.

Pry loose all the corners of the silver piece and you can gently pull it off when all the edges are loose. Once the screen is off, you're already done with the first part! Now since the screen is off, use this opportunity to clean the inside of your phone and make sure there's no debris or anything so that it won't irritate you when the screen is already in place. Remove the protective plastics from the new screen and check to see that the cut of the screen fits your Blackberry.

Now comes the tricky part. The screen comes with the double sides tape that is cut to shape and it will have a piece of paper to show you where the tape goes. You need to stick the tape very carefully into the grooves on your phone, make sure you stick it on your phone and not the screen. Do this very gently and don't rush either. Be careful with the tape and take your time to do it, when you've placed each piece, you will notice that it wouldn't go right in and stick properly, so use a Xacto knife to press it down in place. Put the screen over, gently press is down and you're done!
