How to Feel the Christmas Spirit - By: Anna Mundo

With so many hassles and stresses that our job and environment are giving us, sometimes we tend to forget events that should be cherished and look forward to. And one of those is Christmas.

We are now at the digital era and most of our actions are influenced by the technology. And because the new technology can often make things easy for us, we put a little time on preparing for Christmas and rely on the fast Internet. Since we are all busy with our work and other things, some traditional way of giving gifts and preparing the menu are being neglected. Now, through the advancement of technology, sending greetings and gifts can be as easy as clicking the mouse of our computer. The Christmas feast on table can also be completed with just one dial from our favorite restaurants. No doubt, these things are making our lives much easier but these are also the things that make the true spirit of Christmas pass through our eyes.

If you think that time is running so fast, why don’t you stop for a while and ponder? It is still a few days before Christmas and yet many people are already looking forward to 2012. If you are one of them, think again! Are you going to let this Christmas pass you by just because you have more plans for next year? Or will you use the remaining days to do your Christmas chores traditionally and happily with your loved ones?

If you came to realize that you want to feel the Christmas spirit, then here are 10 ways to do so.

1. Do your own shopping. Traditional gift giving is defined as choosing the gifts and wrapping them personally. Feel the irritable way of getting along with people with their last Christmas shopping. It only happens once a year so instead of complaining think of someone who is excited to receive his/her gifts.

2. Greet people with Merry Christmas. Meeting your neighbors is a usual thing everyday. However, since it is Christmas, why not exert an extra effort to smile and utter two more words other than Good Day? Greet them Merry Christmas and you will definitely spread the happiness you feel.

3. Decorate your house. It is always fun to dress the house with season's decors. Spend a day with your loved ones and start putting up that Christmas tree.

4. Hang out with your friends and attend to get together will keep the spirit of Christmas alive in you.

5. Watch Christmas movies to give your more reasons to be excited.

6. Spend wisely. Still, despite of the urge to spend money this holiday, you should still work on your budget. This is to avoid unwanted buys and even credits that will give you more problems in the next few months.

7. Organize yourself at work. Our job will never be finished within one day. Make sure that your time is well spent so you still have time for other Christmas preparations.

8. Share your blessings to less fortunate.

9. Listen to Christmas music.

10. Eat, Laugh and Pray. Life is too short to be spent working to earn money. Make sure that you create memories that you can cherish until the next Christmas comes.

Happiness is a choice and it should be experienced along the way and not at the end of the road. Christmas can give us unexplainable happiness and excitement. It also signifies hope so make sure that you take advantage of the best gifts that you can get. Keep in mind, it only happens one day within a year so just don't let it pass you by.
