How to Cut Softball Training Costs - By: Marc-Olivier Dagenais

Whether you are a softball player or a coach, then chances are that you spend a portion of your funds on a variety of softball training tools. The expenses that you make are of course justified, especially if they help you take the game to the next level. However, in today’s economy (particularly if you’re a coach), then parting with your money for these tools can be quite difficult. In other words, it’s pretty tough to spend a lot of money nowadays.

But there’s no denying too that you still need to train in order to be at the top of your game. So how do you cut your softball training costs, while maintaining your softball skills at the same time? Here’s what we suggest: train in your local playground!

Sounds crazy? Let me explain.

What you probably don’t know is that the stuff that you often see in playgrounds can be great softball training tools. These include your monkey bars and such. The only thing that will limit your training on the playground is your imagination.

Of course you will probably get strange looks from people around you when they see you training in a playground, but why care when it works for you?

Still not convinced? Let us show you some of the reasons why training at your local playground makes perfect sense:

You can do it any time you want. Time is sometimes an issue when you’re dealing with softball training. In that case, then softball training at your local playground would be a perfect solution for you. You can choose to train any time you want, at your convenience. You can train in the afternoon, or in the morning, when people aren’t flocking the place yet.
It helps you save a lot of money. If money is an issue with you, or if you’re done spending tons of money on run of the mill softball training tools, then training at your local playground would be a fantastic way to save money. You don’t have to pay for gym hours too.

Should You Ditch Traditional Softball Training Altogether?

But bear in mind that I am not saying that training at your local playground is everything you need to become a better softball player. Rather, use this type of training to complement your regular softball training. You can use it for your cross training, or simply to help prevent you from getting burned out with the same old training techniques.

Plus, it also helps to invest some of your money on softball training aids such as DVDs, and get a personal coach, if you can afford it. These things will help you improve your game faster and better than if you would do things all on your own.

Now there you have it. What I’m trying to say here is that money shouldn’t always be an issue if you want to become a better softball player. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of creativity to help you achieve your training goals.
