How to Choose the Right Bed for Your Child - By: jackauthors

Most parents will be fully aware of how important it is to find the right type of bed for their child. Not only will it need to have an appealing style, but there are a plenty other important factors to be considered. The safety, build quality, colour, price and overall size will all need thinking about and it is always advisable to have a good look around. And you will also need to decide on which type of mattress will be the most suitable for your child.

Managing to find the correct bed for your child will result in two very large benefits...

1. Peace of mind.

If you spend a little time doing some research into childrens beds, then you will know you have chosen something that is safe, robust and perfect for your child.

2. Peace and quiet!

Purchasing the right bed can make bedtime a much more attractive prospect for any child! This will mean far fewer arguments when it is time for your ‘little angel’ to head off up the apples and pears...

As you can see, it is well worth taking some time to look around!

Here are some of the main types of childrens beds to consider. Remember; your child’s bed will be the main feature of his/her room so keep this in mind when you are thinking about the style –

• Bunk Beds

Bunks are a great idea if you have more than one child to consider... they are also worth thinking about if your child has regular friends to stay.

Bunk beds offer a great solution for smaller bedrooms and will create more space for toys, games and other furniture.

Obviously, the most important thing to bear in mind with bunks is safety; always make sure that a rail is used for the bed at the top and ensure that the ladder is properly secured to the frame.

• Cabin Beds

Again, cabin beds are a really good choice if your child’s room is low on space.

Kids love to have a den or ‘hidey hole’ and cabin beds have one of these fitted as standard – the space where a lower bunk would normally be! The built-in desk provides a great place for play, activity or homework.

Many childrens beds are purposely designed to be fun and cabin-styled beds are one of the best examples of this.

• Canopy Beds

Medieval castles, sleeping beauty and handsome princes; most little girls will love the magic of fairy tales, so a canopy bed can be the perfect choice.

On a practical level, you should always give some thought to the colour of canopy you buy. Will it coordinate with your child’s bedding? If you have any doubts, then it is always a good idea to opt for a canopy in a neutral shade as it will blend in with any other colour.

• Themed Beds

Many children will love to have a bed that is shaped like a rocket, a car, a plane, a dollhouse or a boat! And if you cannot find one in this style, then there are plenty of ‘surrounds’ out there to which can be added to ‘normal beds’!
