Bedding sets are a very important part of, if not the most important part of a bedroom’s decoration. The bed takes up the majority of the space in the room and so some attention should be given to how it is “dressed”. Bedding sets must always match the rest of the decor. If everything is mismatched you won’t enjoy spending time in the room at all, and seeing as we spend a good number of hours in there every day, this can be a problem.

Think about what colours compliment each other when choosing bedding sets. If you have white or magnolia walls, you may want to choose some colour to have on the bed. If you already have bright colour throughout the room then you will want to choose perhaps some neutral colours for the bedding. You can also use some nice throws or scatter pillows to inject some texture and layers into the room. This can be very effective at giving the room a whole new look or style.

Choosing bedding sets to match seasons is a popular step to take as it allows you to change the style of the room several times a year. In summer you may want light coloured bedding as well as light weight bedding. Dark, heavier duvets and covers don’t fit well in summer and are better used during the winter months only. When spring or summer comes it gives you an opportunity to remove the thick bedding, throw open the windows and make the room as light and airy as possible.

When push comes to shove however, personal choice and style are probably the biggest factors when you are choosing bedding sets. As long as you are happy with the design and feel then that is all that matters!
