How to Avoid Some Common Eye Problems by Wearing UV-proofed Eyewear? - By: RandaFritch

UV rays in the sunlight are harmful for our eyes and the main two sorts of UV Rays are UVA and UVB both of which will cause serious problems onto our eyes. And some eye wears are good devices to block them out. Generally, it is common to see some cheap sunglasses in the market. However, those cheap glasses can not filter out all harmful UV rays in the light. Or even some of those cheap glasses are of low quality and will cause some other eye problems as well.

Generally, there are also lots of UV rays on a cloudy day. Therefore, we should still try to wear UV-proofed glasses to block them. Especially, our youngsters should be more attentive about this.

UV rays are harmful, though they come into eyes indirectly. Those rays will be accumulated by the cornea over which some conjunctive will be grown. And the conjunctiva is called peteryguum.

If those rays come into eyes directly, more serious damage will be caused on the cornea. And the victims will suffer from cataracts and macular degeneration as a result.

However, those rays can be blocked through particular methods.

One of the best methods is to wear eyeglasses made up of polycarbonate lenses. Some inner UV-blockers are set in those lenses and almost all UV rays can be filtered out. And those lenses will provide very bright light as well.

Another method is to wear UV-coated lenses. Those lenses are almost the same as polycarbonate lenses functionally, be they plastic or glass. The only difference is it is tinted with yellow coatings.

For those who have glasses that can not block UV rays, they can use Clip-ons. They can be stick onto the glasses when needed. Though the UV rays are filtered out, the light will also be reduced. Of course, this method will lead to less cost.

Still, for those who have worn glasses, they can use fit-overs. They are almost the same as clip-ons. And the great difference is it can block UV rays coming from all corners.

Some transition lenses are also very nice. It is good for those who have to wear prescription glasses. However, those lenses can not block side UV rays. And it will change colors according to the density of UV rays.

Prescription sunglasses are also some of the best alternatives. Some particular sunglasses can filter out UV rays coming from all corners. But some of those sunglasses are not suitable for those who have certain eye problems, like myopia, astigmatism, etc.

Polarized eye wear can reduce the harm of glare, and polarized clip-ons, fit-overs and sunglasses are very ideal.

Generally, those polarized wrap-around sunglasses are good alternatives for those who do not wear prescription glasses. And those polarized fit overs are good for those with high prescriptions. Considering from different stances, sunglasses are good bets.

In fact, problems like cataracts, pteryguum and macular degeneration, are not caused by UV rays only, but many other factors, such as smoking can lead to macular degeneration and dusty air will cause pterygium, etc.

Though wearing those eye wears can not avoid all eye diseases, it helps a lot.
