How to Appeal Your Driving Offences Conviction - By: Tom Jui

There’s nothing worse than being convicted of something when you felt wrongly accused of it in the first place. There are always cases, particularly when it comes to driving offences, which result in an outcome that doesn’t seem fair or justified, but fear not – with the right help on your side, there are ways that you can appeal your conviction to get a much better result.

The first thing you need to do is head to qualified and experienced motoring solicitors, and probably not the same ones that were unsuccessful in representing you in the first place. These new solicitors will be able to evaluate your case to see if an appeal is warranted, and if they agree that the outcome is unjust (and if they think that the appeal will be successful) then they’ll be able to take on your case.

They’ll be able to call on their army of expert witnesses to form your appeal, drawing on any information that seems relevant to help overturn the conviction. They’ll appeal to the courts (usually the Crown Court or High Court depending on the situation) to reconsider the decision, and will hopefully be able to get a much better outcome.

Some solicitors will simply offer advice on whether or not it’s worthwhile continuing whereas others will put you in touch with trusted barristers that are trained in appealing driving offences, thereby giving you a much better chance of success. In the long run this means that a conviction doesn’t necessarily have to be accepted, because if you seek out the right motoring solicitors you’ll soon be able to tell if an appeal is possible. Make sure to get in touch with a firm that can help (such as Cunninghams Solicitors) and you could be well on your way to a much more satisfactory result.
