If you want to prevent hair growth, a hair inhibitor is generally the most effective way to work with your body to put a stop to unwanted hair growth. There are several different reasons why hair grows in unusual places for women. It could be due to disease, hormone imbalances, or heredity. Whatever the reason, the ultimate goal is to remove, and prevent the unwanted hair from becoming a problem again. Research and technology have allowed for this problem to be inhibited by several different products that all work in relatively similar ways.
A hair has a root and a shaft that grow out of pores in the skin. The hair grows due to certain enzymes in the skin that allows the hair follicle to produce the hair. In order to get to the origin of growth, the hair generally has to be removed by the root. For this reason, waxing or plucking is best when using a hair inhibitor; however, some hair inhibitor products can be used after shaving. When the root has been removed, the cream or liquid can penetrate into the pore and hinder the hair growth process and eventually stop hair growth.
This process is done by blocking the growth enzyme in the skin. Because it is such a complex process that deals with blocking a naturally occurring enzyme, these products generally take time to work. The general time frame to see results is six to eight weeks. Most companies will let you know if the product has been tested extensively and you should take the time to read through the test results. Skin type should be taken into consideration as well.
A hair inhibitor can reduce the amount of unsightly hairs on unusual places on the body. Some of these products can even permanently stop the growth of the hair. These products are not a miracle product though, so they need time to do their work. Patience is key when using a product that is working with your body to reverse a process that is naturally occurring. If the hair growth process is reoccurring, a doctor may need to be consulted. As with any other type of skin treatment, if you are using a hair inhibitor and excessive side effects occur, your doctor should always be consulted and treatment temporarily stopped.
