How a Steam Shower Works - By: Allan Michael Taylor

More and more people are getting hooked on spas as a way of relaxation especially after a tiring day. Spas are perfect for pampering the body through steam rooms, removing toxins that are bad for the body. People who are going in spas claim that they feel renewed and rejuvenated after experiencing the amenities of spas especially in steam rooms. On the other hand, not all people can afford to pay for the services of spas. In fact, they would prefer to feel relaxed in their own homes. Fortunately, steam showers are now available specifically designed for home use.

If you are one of those people who would rather stay at home than pay high costs of spas, you can do so by purchasing the right type of steam shower for your bathroom. Thus, you can pamper yourself at the comfort of your own home less the expensive fees for spa services. More so, you can obtain as much privacy as you can, which you could not get from commercial spas.

Conversely, you might be wondering how a steam shower works. A steam shower usually has an enclosure that separates it from the entire bathroom. It is usually installed at the bathroom corner although some models of steam showers can be installed at the center of the bathroom. Apart from having a tap for hot and cold water, the steam shower has steam outlets around its enclosure.

In addition, some steam shower units are designed as regular showers specifically for individuals who are always in a rush. These units have a push button, which allows steam to come out. Once you push the button, the steam shower unit can turn into a sauna. If you want to relax even better, you can opt for units that have built-in seats comparable to those in commercial sauna spots. However, units with built-in seats are a little more expensive than normal steam shower units.

The mechanics of a steam shower is not so complicated at all. It is the same as boiling water in a kettle. Steam comes out as the water boils. The mechanics is the same for a steam shower. The water boils from the back of the panel walls, which is activated when the push button or digital dial is pressed.

You have the option to control the amount of steam you want to come out of the nozzle. Thus, you can adjust the temperature according to your preference. The steam shower has a box where water starts to boil depending on the level you set on the button or dial. After which, the steam comes out.

Some of the benefits/advantages of a steam shower include the following:

- Improves circulation of blood in the body
- Reduces stress and tension
- Relieves joint stiffness and eliminates joint pains
- Relaxes the tension in muscles
- Reduces trouble in the sinus
- Reduces toxins and other waste materials in the body through sweating
- Rejuvenates the skin
- Relieves arthritis
