Begin From The Right Place

Initially you must consider what level you're beginning from. Are you presently a totally sedentary beginner or do you think you're a workout lover. Whichever class you set yourself in will determine which approach to your walking strategy you'll take.

For instance a very unhealthy person will begin to improve their fitness levels simply by getting out and walking at any level or pace regularly.

Whereas a highly trained man or women needs a lot more challenging tactic and would need to start right away using advanced training techniques. However if they wished to improve their endurance levels then simply just walking for extended distances would help to accomplish this.

Remain consistent

Perhaps one of my biggest golden principles is to 'be regular.' Seriously you will not realize changes in the way you look, feel or levels of fitness if you don't do it on a regular basis.

So if you've made a decision to use walking for fitness, then you will want to firstly sit back and draw up an action plan, including days and times covering the next week when you'll do your walks.

If you notice any days when you won't be able to to walk, plan around this, maybe decide that you'll get up just a little earlier that morning so you're able to go out then and do your walk.

Without walking regularly you won't see any visible changes to your fitness levels. You must provide a reason for your body to alter and improve and it only does this if you repeatedly place a challenge upon it.

Start off at the ideal level for you

Keep increasing and bettering everything you do to make it more challenging and lastly...

Get out do it as frequently as you can. The more you choose to do, the faster you'll notice benefits.
