Computer software is probably the hardest single thing to put on display at a convention. Even if it's exciting software like a new type of game, you still need to invest heavily in hardware to run it all. If you can't provide several testing stations for visitors, you risk losing their interest, which will make it more difficult for you to get a good return on your investment. Luckily, there are several steps you can take to help retain interest in your product and draw people to your trade show display without spending a fortune on computers.

Step 1: Invest In Trade Show Display Multimedia

When your product is a computer program, it might be difficult for people to experience it individually on the convention floor. However, it's easy for them to experience it collectively. You can share the program with the world; all you need do is connect one computer to a large TV and have it running a demonstration version of your software. This only requires one computer and a monitor. You might even be able to run it from someone's laptop. Just check ahead of time and ensure that all the connections match up. You don't want to be scrambling around for the right adapter on the morning of the show!

Step 2: Create A Show-Stopping Demo Video

Once you have the trade show display screen set up, you need to create the media that will appear on it. The first decision you need to make is whether you'll pre-record a video of some sort, or whether you'll have the program executing part of its function. There are a number of ways to successfully orchestrate this. If you have a game type program, you should almost certainly show it live. Ideally, you'd have skilled players taking turns on the game, and even let attendees talk to them after the runs. If you're debuting a more utilitarian program, your best option might be to create some kind of movie that shows the functionality without actually running the program.

Step 3: Put As Many Demo Stations In The Trade Show Exhibit As Possible

No matter what you're offering, if it's on a computer, people will want to try it. And in order for people to try it, they need to have computers. Computers used at conventions often experience a lot of wear and tear, so borrowing them is not advised. However, some companies may be able to loan you a trade show exhibit computer for a small fee. These computers are made to be integrated with a trade show display, and offer substantial utility. If you're interested in one, see whether the service is offered in your area.

Step 4: Ensure Everything Is Ready, Then Relax

You've completed the planning. Now all that's left is a final check, and then it will be convention day. Make sure that everything you need for setup is accounted for; remember that the more technology is involved with your trade show exhibit, the more cords and sundry parts need to be present for it to work. You might consider carrying spare cords or adapters, just in case.

After you've checked over everything, your work is done. You've planned a great trade show display, and your visitors will love it. Just sit back and enjoy a great presentation.
