How To Stop Focusing On Your Limiting Beliefs - By: Willie Horton

Garbage In : Garbage Out. That’s how the normal life is lived. We all ingested garbage when we were young and impressionable – the things that, now, in later life, trip us up, make us feel foolish when we so want to act cool, make us react to an already bad situation and make things even worse. We live our lives automatically, our behaviour dictated by a subconscious mind that, rather than evaluating what’s going on now, is dictating on our behaviour by reference to the garbage in your head. And, because it’s all subconscious, you don’t even know what’s going on – you’ve no idea that this automatic internal process is creating all the pain that you have in your life.

Sadly, we're faced with an even greater issue. Your subconscious is overflowing with all kinds of nonsense and rubbish. Firstly, it's pure garbage because it is of no relevance to what you're supposed to be doing at the present moment - here and now. All this rubbish that's crowding out your subconscious mind has been stuck there since your early years, your formative years - from our childhood, when we were young and impressionable. That said, our subconscious mind poses and even greater threat to our happiness and success. Psychological research confirms that, even though we will have both positive and negative influences within, our subconscious mind tends to focus on the negative. This is the way your reactions and behaviour are determined and this is how, as a result, the apparent reality of your life is created.

And, although your automatic actions and reactions are automatically driven, you're actually fully aware of it from time to time because you can actually see yourself self-sabotaging or know in your heart and soul that you're doing yourself down. From time to time, you feel upset, hassled, stressed or even depressed. Perhaps you feel that you're shy, lacking in intelligence, foolish or just plain inadequate. Sometimes, or in certain situations, you might feel nervous or anxious. Perhaps you think that you suffer from low self esteem of that you don't have any confidence. What you've got to realize is that all this nonsense is just that - nonsense created by nonsense! Unfortunately, this is the rubbish that has your life on hold - and you're letting it happen by paying attention - whether you know it or not - to all the nonsense that lying in wait in the deepest recesses of your subconscious.

How do you deal with this? How are you going to get over the imaginary barriers that your own subconsciouso has set up? For starters, you must understand that your very own personal garbage will never be swept away - it's part and parcel of who you are and where you are in your life right now. However - and this is the very nub of how you can change your life, the very essence of personal development or self improvement - you can choose if you're going to give it your attention. And you can actually choose to control your attention both conscious and subconscious.

If you're prepared to grow up, you can take charge and control of your mind. It's up to you to decide, in each new moment, how you're going to pay attention. Equipped with this information, you've now got a choice to make - are you going to turn your attention to something real or are you going to continue to let your own subconscious mug you with your own negative rubbish. You must realize that the only reality is what is happening right here, right now. The present moment is the only place that you can do your very best. Right here and now is where life is supposed to be lived. What you do today will determine where you are tomorrow. What you've got to do is stop paying attention to the garbage and start paying attention to the present moment - to what's before your very eyes, to what you're actually feeling and hearing, to even what you're tasting and smelling - in the here and now. This refocussing of your mind, this deliberate paying attention will stop your subconscious mind from continually ruining your life with its preoccupation with the garbage that lies deep down in your head. The fact of the matter is that, generally speaking, you don't experience reality, because you're looking at it through a fog created by your own personal nonsense. You can make the fog lift be realizing that, in fact, it isn't there! There is no fog.

All that there is is what's here in this very here and now. You've got to spend some time learning what it's like to actually experience your five senses - make sense of the here and now instead of nonsense. It will change your life.
