How To Pick Stadium Bleachers For Your Outdoor Field, Gym Or School - By: Laura K Dudley

Outdoor stadiums often suffer from multiple renovation issues that keep residents from using the fields. Often, the biggest renovation issue discovered on these fields has to do with the horrible condition of the stadium seats that may be starting to rust, or even worse, crack, causing unsafe seating conditions. Gym, park and school administrators want to be sure that the spectators who visit are safe when they walk and sit on the seating options, and that individuals have enough seating options that they can sit comfortably in. All administrators want to ensure that the guidelines for their state permit them to buy the types of seats they want and that the length and size are right for the field.

Regulations

Do not go out and shell out money on seats without understanding the county’s or state’s laws, as you may not be able to order the type of seats you wish to. For example, if you live in Texas, the laws for outdoor seating areas may require arm rails, while California regulations require that all seats comply with 2001 CBC, Section 1806A.10. In addition to the state and country regulations, the rules will also vary for parks and schools; as for a school in California, any bleacher-type item is considered school property if it is more than 5 rows and must follow additional rules. It is vital to understand all the county and state regulations regarding bleachers that you order for your school or park to avoid any mishaps.

Length and Size

The number of fans you can sit on any particular setup will depend how long in length the row is and the number of rows any one design will have. Yes, the longer the row, the more expensive the costs, but the longer length will help you achieve a larger seating capacity for visitors in your stadium.

Elevated and Non-Elevated

The size of your gym and outdoor stadium will control what type of seats you want, as elevated seats normally accommodate larger crowds than non-elevated ones. If you have a little baseball diamond that gets a couple dozen spectators a game, chances are you might be better off with non-elevated portable bleachers rather than the expensive alternative. What’s great about most elevated seats is that they have room for hundreds of fans and even have handicapped seating for guests. Do not forget, try to consider the row number, length and regulations of your state before you hurry off and get any old seats, as the last thing you want is to order any type of seating and not be able to use it.
