How To Overcome Being Shy, and Become More Sociable - By: teachmeswag.com

Everyone wants, or should want to feel confident all the time. People constantly ask me, how do I become more confident about myself? I tell them it takes two things. First, it takes not caring what other people think about you. If you care what someone thinks about you, and they say something negative towards you, that's going to bring your confidence level down. This is why its better not to care what people say at all. The other part of gaining confidence is believe in yourself. You need to find what you're good at, and think you're the best at that subject. You need to think you are freaking awesome, and you should love yourself like no tomorrow. If you believe you are confident, then you will be. You can't let other effect if you are confident or not, because it will lower your confidence alot. If someone say something to you that makes you feel bad about yourself, don't let that bring you down. Laugh it off, and think that that person is crazy because you are freeakin awesome.

Many people are shy. They might have social anxiety, or just get nervous being around people. I will try my best to help you overcome being shy, and help you become more sociable.

The first step you need to take in becoming sociable is start saying hi to more people. People you know, say hi. People you don't know, say hi. Just greet people! This is an easy way to start becoming more sociable. The next step is to start a conversation after you say hi. Ask the person how their day has been, or make a comment about something such as the weather. Try to make the conversation last as long as possible. You need to be the one asking questions. Ask about anything that pertains to that person. You can try this first with people you know, and then with people you don't know. Good places to meet new people is at parks, church, events, and other social organizations that interest you. If you go to events that interest you, you can easily talk to people that have similar interests as you do.

The next piece of advice I'm going to give to you is, just throw yourself out there. Whether you're at school or at work, speak up if you have an idea, suggestion, or even a disagreement. You may be nervous the first couple of times, but with practice you'll get better, and you will soon see great results. Practice makes perfect.

One more bonus tip is: talk to yourself in front of a mirror. This might sound silly or weird, but it will help you alot. You also need to be CONFIDENT. Confidence is key to overcoming shyness. You need to believe in yourself, for others to believe you are confident.
