How To Make The Most Out Of Your Group Vacation - By: Pam Lawson

Organizing a group vacation is no east feat considering the fact that you have to balance everything between all the individuals, agree on where to go, what to eat and what to explore. Most times, we will find ourselves struggling with many different opinions and preferences so, here are a couple of tips to get you going, hope that it makes your vacation a better, more enjoyable and peaceful one.

1. If you can use, use bus rental and have one person become the ‘planner’ in the absence of a tour guide or a person familiar with the city. When there is conflict, you need to agree that everyone has to listen to what the ‘planner’ has to say and compromise from there. And the group leader carries a heavy responsibility too because most of the time, the group leader will have the final say. If you can’t agree on a leader, appoint the one who suggested the trip, the one who is most enthusiastic about it, the one who is doing the most to get the vacation going or simply pick the eldest person in the group as the leader. The leader should also be the one to pick the bus rental to go with.

2. Make it a short group vacation. Why? A large group of people tend to get bored with each other over a long period of time and don’t be surprised with this but some friends end up holding grudges with each other when they spend too much time together days on end. If individuals choose to go their own way after a couple of days, great, let them. You will find it easier to maintain the relationship or friendship with a short vacation as opposed to a longer one. Although you may be using bus rental services, traveling and transportation problems could affect everyone in many different ways.

3. Book ahead of time. The same thing goes for booking your bus rental services, you need to be ahead of time in booking a table at your favorite restaurants and purchase admission tickets to theme parks or shows that you wish to go to during the vacation. Otherwise, you might have to contend with seats that are located far away from each other or not enough space at the table because there isn’t one that is big enough for your group. If possible, if the group is large, book a private room.

4. This task to be left to the leader of the group – get everyone to write down what they are concerned about on a piece of paper and then let the leader deal with the problems individually and see if we can find a solution to the concern. For instance, parents with kids might want to pick a hotel with play areas or disabled people are concerned about having to climb long fights of stairs.
