How To Internet Market Guide - What Is Optimization (SEO)? - By: apexblog2739

As a website owner looking to increase you’re exposure, you’ve probably heard the term SEO thrown around a lot. It is imperative to understand what Search Engine Optimization or SEO is as it is a fundamental answer to the question ‘How To Internet Market’ – it is a popular form fn online marketing. It is the science of increasing your ranking on the search engines results page (SERPs) for specific keyword phrases. This is done by altering (or optimizing) internal (on-page optimization) and external (off-page optimization) factors relating to your website.

There are so many techniques that fall under the category of SEO and companies often focus on different techniques to optimize their website’s ranking. Just like all other forms of internet marketing, some businesses have a highly specialized approach to SEO, while others have a more broad and general approach.

Why is SEO important in answering the question ‘How to Internet Market?

If you do not know the answer to this question, ponder this fact: Google, Bing and Yahoo search are the main drivers of user traffic to websites. This is because users often do not have a particular business in mind when it comes to finding products or services to solve their issue or question or satisfying a need of theirs. Therefore, they search for general keyword phrase searches such as “Attractions In Sydney” to find businesses in that product or service category despite not knowing what they will end up choosing. If you own a theatre company in Sydney and your website is on the top of the results page for this search, it is highly likely the user will visit your website. Generally users will not search past the first 2 results pages. This means that if your website doesn’t have a high ranking for keywords your target audience searches for, good luck getting any traffic to your website! You can look at it this way, would you rather have a store on a busy street with many people walking past, or in a deserted alleyway. As you can see, search traffic can genuinely make or break your business’s success.

This is why so many businesses invest in SEO – the impact it can have on sales.

Can’t the search engines just find me without SEO?

Search engines aim to provide the most relevant results to their users. Though at the end of the day, because of the millions of webpages that pop up everyday, programs and not humans are used to figure out the rankings. If you don’t optimize your website for the search engines, your website may as well be invisible to your target audience.

So do YOU need SEO?

That really depends on what your goal is. If you have a personal blog and don’t mind if very few people see it or if you only want your existing clients to find your website, then spending money on SEO is not for you. However, if your one of the millions of companies trying to compete in a product and/or service category or a person who wants to build up your reputation and have your content seen by as many people as possible – then yes – SEO is necessary to your growth and helping you stand out from the multitude of competitors in your market. SEO can be daunting so I recommend you search for internet marketing software that can help you perform SEO more efficiently.

I hope that helped you answer the question - what is optimization. Remember that the difference between achieving a #1 Google ranking and a #10 Google ranking can be worth millions. Right now, someone is #1 for the keywords that your target audience searches for the most. Don’t you want to be that someone?
