When most companies try to show their awards inside of a portable display, the accolades are either too overpowering or too easy to miss. If they're overwhelming, they detract from the focus on the actual product, making it tough to understand the benefit of the product for the client. If the award is too understated, it can be missed entirely, making your company lose a potential boost in visitor opinion. The ideal way to present an award is to hit a balance between too much focus and too little: you need to let the accolade speak for itself without allowing it to become drowned out.

Using Product Awards In Your Trade Show Exhibits

Product awards are easy to include when there are few, but become difficult to use well in larger numbers. When you have one product award, it is generally wise to place an image of the award along with a brief explanation of it somewhere relatively prominent on the portable display. It is usually a simple matter of positioning with the single product recognition.

Multiple accolades are somewhat more complex. It is generally unwise to include more than about three to five separate accolades in the same location, as more than that becomes distracting. Your visitors won't notice the product itself; they will be too focused on the accolades to learn why your product is useful. To select the ones which will be placed on the portable exhibit, it is wise to focus on those with the most prestige and widest recognition in your field. Include any others in a product information brochure that you pass out to all visitors.

Using Competition Medals In A Portable Display

Artists often receive accolades for their work, but in a very different setting from those received by a larger company. Whereas most large companies receive awards for overall product excellence, an artist is generally complemented on each individual piece, and those commendations don't translate to their other works. It is very rare for an artist to receive an overall best in show in recognition of their total collection.

Thus, an artist has to focus particularly closely on displaying one accolade in order to push one particular product. Luckily, the structure of most artistic commendations makes it easy to show them well. If you are hanging your paintings or photographs at the convention, or displaying your three-dimensional art, you can place the commendations you've received on the frame or on the case. If the art is large enough, a single ribbon or medal isn't likely to disrupt the viewing experience or detract substantial attention from the more important elements of your trade show exhibits.

If you ensure that your product remains center stage and the prizes are merely a secondary aspect, you've already succeeded. Place the information about the accolades near the product to which they belong, and people will see them. The vast majority of your visitors will recognize your achievement, and you'll see the benefit of that in your trade show exhibits' success.
