How To Improve Your Memory With Games and Activities - By: Myers Mike

Memory's under-performance is daunting and can happen anytime causing even more worry to the individual concerned. Your brain needs exercise and with just the right amount every day, you'll be able to keep it in good shape which of course will help strengthen your memory. I know, I know, some questions you might have are, how do I exercise my brain? What if it's a lengthy process, I don't have the time, especially not every day and so on..

It really doesn't have to be this way. First off, let me start by saying thatWhen it comes to improving your memory, many options become available to you and the good news I am going to share with you to day is that you can add some fun to improving your memory. Yes! All it takes is following some fun, non-time consuming practices to improve your memory.

Let us take a look at some examples below:

Do you like watching tv? If you watch tv a lot then a way to improve your memory is by choosing to participate in a show such as a game show on a regular basis, how about that? Try answering the questions asked by the show host and evaluate yourself.

If you happen to find difficulties picking a game show you can participate in on a regular basis then trying to make up your own games through other shows on tv might be worth a try and remember you dont really need to base any game on the topic of the show you're watching. Another way you might find useful to improve your memory is to observe commercials that come on and see if you can remember the order in which they were shown when they were last displayed. You can also try guessing the order in which they'll appear when they're displayed next.

Newspapers, magazines anyone?

If you like reading newspapers or magazines, you can certainly make use of them.Maybe you can try solving some cross-word puzzles or cryptograms. Reading itself can help exercise your mind. After reading a piece of information, you can try asking yourself an hour later what it is that you read about earlier, you can then refer to the newspaper or magazine you read from to see if you recalled the information correctly. In addition, reading aloud can contribute to your memory's improvement by allowing you to focus more on the words you speak out loud.

How about playing memory improvement games with your colleagues? One game you can try is to assign each colleague with a color or word or both in the beginning of each working day then in the end, try to remember the colors or words you assigned them with.

Traveling to and from work can be a way you can train your memory to improve further. As you head to and from work, try a new route one day on your way back from work. Then when you go back to work the following day, you can try to see if you remember the route you accessed the previous night. I would leave that until it's just a normal day at work, no meetings, appointments. You don't want to upset your boss! Not if he's like my boss anyway.

Engaging in new activities or kinds of exercises is surely a very good way to enhance your memory's performance. For example learning a new language, or learning how to play a new instrument. These two require you to recall certain information as do the following:

-Building a model car, airplane or ship (as you'd need to work with tiny parts that need your concentration)

-Writing a poem

You might also be interested in organizing a quiz event with your family members or friends. This is another great exercise and game you can involve in improving your memory. For maximum effectiveness, try going about these exercises and games on a daily basis. After all its all about commitment, practice and keeping a positive attitude, knowing that it is certainly possible to improve your memory in a fun way!
