Choosing a right paramedical course is an overwhelming task for it decides the course of a life of a health professional. Once decided, the next daunting job is to zero in on the college. A college could be a government body, private one or probably a funded academy.

There are many colleges who have fake affiliation certificates and this can seriously tarnish the career of a future paramedic. One must thoroughly check the certificates and then even perform the cross check with the university.

Personnel: A person getting trained will be working and learning from the ancillary staff as well. Therefore there should be ample number of nursing staff, Ultrasound and Operation Theatre technicians, Lab Technicians and so on.

Placements: After getting sufficient training, practical as well as theoretical, the next and the most important step is get a job. Though there is no dearth of opportunities for the paramedics, but getting one through the campus is like an icing on the cake. The academy in question must have tie ups with large bedded hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, colleges etc, so that the students get an extensive exposure.

Apart from the above stated factors, other important aspects are that the courses, number of seats, etc. must be duly approved by the concerned authorities. The college or the academy must be regularly involved in organizing guest lectures, quiz contests, workshops and seminars. The college must have a regularly updated website. Then it must be subscribed to important scientific journals for the technical up gradation of its students. Not to forget, the hostel and mess facility should be up to the mark taking care of hygiene and nutrition considerations.
