How To Check Whether The Landline Deal You Are On Suits Your Budget - By: Sue Johnson.

Many people believe that in this age of mobile technology, the only reason to have a Landline installed in your home is to provide access to broadband internet. However, if you find that you are paying large bills to your mobile provider each month, a home phone deal with the right provider could help you keep costs down without spending less on talking to friends and family.

If you do have a phone line installed but tend to rely on your mobile phone for making calls, contact your phone service provider to confirm what perks you are entitled to on that price plan. Many providers offer free evening and weekend calls (that last less than an hour- but you can always hang up and ring back to stay within the allowance) or more bespoke deals if you find you use the phone more at other times. If you find that you are not on a price plan that offers discounted or free calls, it is worth searching for a new provider.

You can do this easily by visiting a price comparison site. By entering your postcode, you will be able to find out which companies provide services in your area. Filtering the results to your needs is also a simple process. If you just want to see the deals that give you free evening and weekend calls, you can check a box that removes any deals without this option. The same with 'anytime' deals that offer discounted call costs all day, every day. The results tend to be sorted by price-per-year, with the cheapest deal at the top of the list, although if you want to sort the results by monthly line rental cost, doing so is just a matter of clicking the column heading.

If you currently get your phone services and broadband from different providers, signing up to a bundle package that gives you both from the same provider could save you money each month. Most providers offer bundle deals but prices vary greatly depending on the broadband deal you agree to. The higher the download speed and allocation, the higher the monthly line rental cost will be.

Of course, it is worth contacting your current provider and asking them if there is a better deal they can move you to. Most providers will try their best to keep you as a customer and will happily transfer your account onto a cheaper price plan if you explain you can no longer afford the price plan you are on.

Are you paying too much for your phone line? Want to find out how much you could save each month? Stop wondering and visit a price comparison site today. You will not regret it.
