It is believed there is a very close connection between music and spirituality. Since music has the unique capacity of inspiring us to search deep within, it is possible to connect with the higher power through songs. The deepest spirituality is about silence and peace hence it is practical to use music as a channel to our spiritual side. In fact millions of people have had a spiritual awakening as a result of music.

Music has the unique ability to lift and elevate our consciousness. Many people can admit that music has been of greatest help in their weakest moments. Spiritual music is able to energize the inner soul without restlessness or excitement. It can be very useful in meditation. Whenever we listen to spiritual music, it always awakens a great desire and an ambition to reside in the realms of our own consciousness. Beethoven, who was a great composer of music often referred to music as the greatest mediator between the sensual life and spiritual awakening.

They say it is possible to achieve salvation through music but many Christians have come up to oppose this view. But if not so, why is music played in nearly all religious shelters where the spirit is believed to dwell? Music also takes a central role during Easter and Christmas thus explaining that it goes a great way in reaching our spiritual masters. In the same way, music has been used to spread the word of God in the whole world. Many musicians have made it possible for their fans to experience a spiritual awakening whenever they listen to their music.

Many will agree that there exist a great relationship between music and spirituality. We may however differ on the type of music that strengthens our spiritual side or that which is able to re-energize our souls and awaken the giants in our unconscious. In my opinion, it does play a great role in our spirituality but we cannot dismiss other factors or otherwise the deaf would have no way of connecting to the deity.
