How Can You Combat Constipation Naturally? - By: E. Dawson

You are usually constipated if you only have one bowel movement a day, or less. This can be caused by several factors. It may just be that you have changed to a healthier style of eating recently instead of a diet that is not all that healthy. Your body would just be adjusting to extra healthier fibers from the more natural food products you would now be consuming.


Another one of the most common reasons people experience constipation is that they are dehydrated. Your body will not be able to get rid of the bad stuff if the colon is not absorbing enough water. If the bad stuff is not flushed from your body, it will remain inside you only to make you feel fatigued and uncomfortable. Also, a toxic build up makes it difficult for you to absorb the necessary nutrients and to burn off excess fat.


Although i have just mentioned two of the causes, these are the more common causes and there are many more as well. Now im sure you are wondering how to avoid this uncomfortable situation?


Here are some of the more natural ways to prevent constipation:


1. Be sure to consume enough water daily. You can drink up to half your body weight in ounces of water every day. You can slowly build up the amount of water you consume each day if the thought of drinking that amount is daunting to start off with, and it is recommended that you start off with a smaller amount.


2. Add some ground flaxseeds to your meals. You can find flaxseeds in most supermarkets and health food stores. Try grounding them to add to your daily coffee, fruits, oatmeal or yoghurt. This will raise the amount of healthy fibers your body takes on and also add extra omega 3 to your diet.


3. In each meal you consume, include raw foods. Make sure you serve at least one raw component to each meal. Examples of fresh fruit can be added to breakfast and lunches. Or for dinners and lunches, add raw vegetables like tomato, carrots and cucumbers. Don't exclude cooked veges as they are also good for you but consuming raw gives your body access to the naturally occuring enzymes.
