Hotel furniture on a budget - By: Jamie Hanson

Many hotels cannot aspire to be the best. While the highest excellence is preferred in most cases, if the property's budget doesn't allow for the best of the best, you can still comfortably make due with average quality hotel furniture and avoid low quality. Spot the best from quick guides.
We look out in standard quality hotel furniture for a few construction characteristics. We try to find more mortise and tenon joints instead of mitered joints. It requires manual help and labor. Mitered joints are classically nailed or stapled together and can loosen over time. The rabbit joints can set the drawer boards. Rabbiting is a little more job than mitering but usually holds the drawers together for longer. We would also prefer to see dadoed shelves instead of metal rollers as dadoes typically don't wear out and have to be exact when cut or the shelves won't fit in. Finally, since hand nailing is dear, for medium quality pieces we at least like to see the frames glued then stapled together over just stapled. The glue is very important aspect.

The materials we look for are several of the lower costs woods (we are shopping on a budget!) which fall into your pines and ash woods. Kitchen wood can be rugged. Remember perfect is more expensive. Observe the furniture to be utilized in the hotel. You can even order these pieces with wood veneers to make the hotel furniture look a lot more expensive than it actually is.

Other things to look out for when buying medium quality hotel furniture is if the knobs and the drawer pulls aren't of terrible quality but are adequate and not embarrassing to show off. Is the hotel furniture square and does it looks like it is going to hold perfectly over time? The drawers has to move freely without trouble. On visual check of the backs, generally medium quality pieces have several type of fiberboard stapled or tacked to the back covering the insides. The major concern is the it should not make any sound or get dismantled.

Having a option and a watchful eye, you can probably find a few bargains if you are looking for average quality hotel furniture and at the minimum you can keep away paying too much for junk.
