Just a small leak can be enough to turn your lovely home into a blazing inferno.

One danger that is more common than you might think is decorative candles. These look nice, and people don't usually consider safety when placing them. Sometimes they are placed near very flammable material, and when they are lit they can pose a significant risk of fire. Be sure to keep fire safety in mind when placing them, and always keep a close eye on them when lighting them and burning them.

One commonly overlooked danger comes when the weather is hot and humid. Hot, moist areas are rampant breeding grounds for viruses, bacteria and other pathogens that can cause all kinds of illnesses. Your home can literally turn into a breeding ground for infectious diseases in just a couple of days. The best way to avoid this is to clean regularly, keep the windows open, and to use a dehumidifier if possible. That way your house will stay cool and dry as well as safe from germs.
