Ear mites are external parasites which affect dogs and cats. It basically lives on the surface of pet's ear. The ear of the pet becomes red and inflamed due to scratching. White vinegar when used in small amount is also an effective means to deal with ear mites. Dilute vinegar by mixing one part of vinegar with two parts of water and pour it gently into the ears of your pet. Now take a cotton ball and gently wipe the inside of the ear.

One of the convenient home remedies for eat mites is using yellow dock root extract. Dilute nine drops of yellow dock root extract with one tablespoon of water and then use a dropper to put this mixture in the infected ear of your pet. Continue this procedure every other day.

Mineral oil can also be used to clean the inside of your pet's ear. Or you can use wormwood oil to combat ear mites. Just dip a cotton ball into it and apply it directly inside the inner part of the ears. One of the efficient home remedies for ear mites is to mix almond oil and vitamin E oil. Then add few drops of this mixture in both the ears. Now take a cotton bud and clean the ears.

Make a mixture of half teaspoon of oregano oil and half oz of olive oil. Now leave this mixture to stand for 48 hours and then strain it using a cloth. In each ear put two drops. Make it a routine to do this twice daily. Soak a garlic clove in olive oil overnight and remove the garlic. Now you can use this oil to treat your pet's ear. Never use a cotton swab to clean your cat's ear. It may puncture its ear drum. Try frequent shampooing of your pet. This will prevent the infection to spread in other parts of the body. Feeding your dog with vitamin C will help in reducing mites and is one of the effective home remedies for ear mites.

Always remember to feed your pet with a proper diet. It should be free from all kinds of allergens. Avoid feeding your pet with food containing preservatives and artificial colors. Try to give a natural diet to your pet.

You can even try homeopathic remedies like Pulsatilla, Sulphur, Apis or Silica. Keep the bedding of your pet clean by vacuuming it daily and removing toys in order to make it mite free.
