Home-Based Certification Training Courses For CompTIA A Plus - The Options - By: Jason Kendall

Training for your CompTIA A+ comprises of 4 specialised sectors - you'll have to qualify in 2 different areas to be competent in A+. This is why, most training providers restrict their A+ to just two of the four areas. We consider that this isn't enough - certainly you'll have the qualification, but experience of all four will give you a distinct advantage in the workplace, where you'll need a more comprehensive understanding. That's why we believe you need education in all 4 specialities.

Courses in A+ computer training are about fault finding and diagnosing - via hands on and remote access, as well as learning to build, repair and fix and operating in antistatic conditions. It could be a good idea to think about adding Network+ training to your A+ as you can then also take care of computer networks, and become a more senior IT professional.

The best type of training program will incorporate accredited exam preparation packages. Often students can get thrown by practising exam questions that aren't from official boards. Often, the terminology in the real exams is unfamiliar and you should be prepared for this. You should make sure you test how much you know by doing tests and practice in simulated exam environments to prepare you for taking the proper exam.

So many training providers are all about the certification, and avoid focusing on what you actually need - which is a commercial career or job. Always start with the final destination in mind - don't make the journey more important than where you want to get to. Never let yourself become one of the unfortunate masses who set off on a track which looks like it could be fun - only to end up with a qualification for an unrewarding career path.

Be honest with yourself about how much you want to earn and the level of your ambition. Often, this changes what precise exams you will need and how much effort you'll have to give in return. Speak to an experienced industry advisor that knows about the sector you're looking at, and who'll explain to you an in-depth explanation of what tasks are going to make up a typical day for you. Contemplating this well before beginning a study programme will prevent a lot of wasted time and effort.

Considering the amount of options that are available, does it really shock us that the majority of trainees get stuck choosing the job they will follow. What are the chances of us grasping what is involved in a particular job if we've never been there? Most likely we have never met anyone who works in that sector anyway. To attack this, there should be a discussion of many unique issues:

* What nature of person you are - which things you really enjoy, and conversely - what you hate to do.

* Why you want to consider stepping into computing - is it to overcome some personal goal like working from home maybe.

* Your earning needs that are important to you?

* Many students don't properly consider the level of commitment required to attain their desired level.

* You need to understand what differentiates all the training areas.

For the majority of us, dissecting each of these concepts will require meeting with an experienced pro who has direct industry experience. And we don't just mean the qualifications - but the commercial needs and expectations also.
