Holidays in Maldives - By: Jasica

Spotting Whale Sharks in the Northeast Monsoon Scuba Diving Season Over on the western side of the atolls, there is less visibility during the North East Monsoon Season, but this is the place to dive if you are looking for Mantas and Whale Sharks, the two most popular marine animals in the Maldives. Most scuba divers here are satisfied with their holiday as soon as they see a Manta or Whale Shark.

So, you have decided to go to the Maldives for your next holiday. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime, so you need to plan carefully to make sure you get the most out of it. The Maldives is home to hundreds of amazing hotels, most of which have their own website, but it's difficult to really know which hotel best suits your need. Then, once you have chosen the hotel, you need to choose the dive center or liveaboard safari ship, the restaurant, the tour operator and everything else. While some things, the restaurants and bars for example, are not that important, you really don't want to choose a bad hotel or liveaboard because that could seriously ruin your whole trip and cost you a lot of money.

The Maldives is home to both the Green Turtle and the Hawksbill, and both are equally charming creatures. Both are also on the endangered species list and as such are protected in the Maldives, although this doesn't stop them from being preyed upon by locals for their shell, meat and eggs. There is nothing cooler than scuba diving alongside a turtle or two - they are such peaceful creatures.

While there are many other amazing creatures in the waters around the Maldives, if you are a scuba diver, you will be happy to see these five creatures during your adventure here. Happy Diving!

Maldives islands' diving is one of the best in the world. Called sunbathers' paradise, Maldives islands offer world's best deserted beaches and its lagoons provide spectacular snorkeling and diving. But before you go for diving or play other water sports, you should ensure that associated risks are already covered in your insurance policy.

If you intend taking your family on vacation abroad or make your honeymoon most memorable then you must go to Maldives islands where you will get very close to nature and fall so much in love with the place that you will visit it again and again. Beauty of Maldives islands really makes it another paradise on earth!

Ghar Lapsi is a better starting point for beginning divers because it has a shallow point of entry and only goes to 15-20 meters. HMS Maori-Valletta is also 15 meters, but it is situated below Fort St. Elmo. The wreckage is covered in tube worms and weeds. However, this particular ship is easy for divers to enter and exit.

Diving in Gozo Though it isn't as popular with holidaymakers, Gozo is home to some famous dive sites, including Dwerja Point at Fungus Rock and the Blue Hole. These diving sites offer stunning colour, the best visibility, interesting overhangs, small crevices, ship wrecks, small and large caves, rocks, arches, coral and marine life.
