Planning a travel holiday along with some holiday insurance helps in many different ways. Holiday insurance is now available with many benefits. One can claim loss baggage and even get a claim for any accident or illness during the journey, even if one is in a foreign country.

Holiday insurance gives a great peace of mind and also increases the feeling of safety in oneself. Travel insurance is needed for a variety of reasons. There could be many things happening unexpectedly while one is traveling. Besides, one does wish to be bothered about losing money or getting hurt when one is on a holiday.

While on a journey, one can possibly lose the baggage. Losing the baggage is something that one would hate but such things do happen even in big hotels and airports. For instance, even while checking in at the airport the luggage can be misplaced by the airline company and it can even transfer it to another airplane heading in another direction by mistake.

In such cases, the passenger who has a travel insurance need not fret because the insurance company would be ready to compensate the passenger for this loss. However, insurance companies do not compensate for every loss of baggage. There are certain conditions under which the claim for loss baggage is accepted by the insurance company. Suppose one has been careless about one's luggage and has lost it in an open place, then the travel insurance company may refuse to accept the claim.

This is because the travel insurance company expects the traveler to be careful of the luggage in spite of the insurance and if the luggage is lost in places where it should not, then the company would not entertain any claims. However, if the luggage is lost in spite of all the care from the passenger, then the travel insurance company would compensate for the loss like losing the baggage in a hotel room or in a safe locker.

The other major advantage of travel insurance is that when one ends up becoming sick in a foreign country and goes through hospitalization, the cost involved in it are compensated by the insurance company. The health insurance is important because many people may be allergic to water, food and environment in new countries where they visit and they are likely to suffer from nausea, dehydration and even flu-like conditions.

If the case is severe then one could end up with serious illness and undergo treatment foreign countries. There could be high hospitalization costs involved in this which may sometimes be unaffordable for a person. However, under travel insurance, all the hospitalization charges can be claimed from the insurance company.

However, there are certain preconditions on part of the insurance company before providing health insurance to the travelers. Insurance companies do not cover for persons who visit places where there is an endemic disease. Travelers are also advised to take better precautions while traveling in foreign countries despite having covered under an insurance plan.
