Hidden Chemicals In Our Foods? - By: Kim Evans

Several years back I remember an article on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune. It announced the finding of rocket fuel in milk. Yes, you read that right, I did say rocket fuel. I was shocked and shared the information with a friend. My friend didn't think it was a big deal, and honestly, I think I found that more surprising. Because, of course, people put milk in their bodies and therefore, they are putting rocket fuel in their bodies, sometimes several times a day. Well, you understand...

Later, I learned that this same person believed that the chlorine that municipalities put in the water was both not harmful to drink and was actually helpful in making us clean while bathing. At first I thought it was a joke, but I was assured that it was not. Sometimes you just shake your head a little bit.

Unfortunately, though, I think it's common practice for people today to dramatically underestimate the damage caused to our bodies by putting such chemicals inside our bodies. And I believe it's also common for people to underestimate and just not to be aware of all of the hidden sources of dangerous chemicals, like milk and so many more.

Unfortunately, our bodies aren't designed for this bombardment of chemicals, and we don't just effectively eliminate all of these chemicals - so we end up storing a lot of them. And the assertions that all of these chemicals are safe are comical. Seriously, how would anyone know for an absolute valid fact that any of these chemicals are safe in the body?

Most of the chemicals that are common in the body haven't been on the planet that long, so it would be absolutely impossible for any real and valid studies to have been done that look at the effects of time, accumulation, and the combination of the chemicals that you're studying with other chemicals from other sources that are also trapped in the body. Or, for that matter, if all of these chemicals trapped in the body have any effects on the next generation. Or the generation after that. It simply hasn't been done, or has it?

At the same time that the use of so many different man-made chemicals in and on our bodies has increased, health problems have also increased dramatically. They're increasing so fast you can almost watch it happen. Not long ago, it was estimated that 30 percent of the population would have a problem with cancer. Now, the estimate is that 50 percent of the population will have a problem with cancer.

In fact, you could look at our society as a whole, with the increase in both the number of common chemicals used in and on our bodies, and the dramatic rise in health problems and say conclusively: We've conducted a giant experiment, with the participation of an entire (unsuspecting) culture. Regrettably, we've found that without a doubt, the use and accumulation of unnatural chemicals in and on the body absolutely causes problems. Often times though, you don't see the problems immediately which is why we unfortunately didn't make the direct connection right away.

The only question left is: Do we want to keep this experiment with our health and bodies up? Or do we want to spend some time deeply cleansing our bodies to remove all of these stored chemicals and dramatically curtail their use - in general? Do we want to put an stop this experiment or do we want to just let people (and generations) keep getting sicker and sicker? It's our choice: What will we decide?
