These medicines are made out of natural leaves and contain no chemical like in that of conventional medicines. There was time during the initial stages of development of drugs when naturopathy was lost in dark. But as time passed, people started to realize the importance of naturopathy and currently, India and China are two big nations where herbal medicines are found. Now-a-days, herbal medicines are gaining popularity all over the world. All the herbal medicines fall under the category of naturopathy. Naturopathy means approaching a disease or a problem in the most natural way possible.

Naturopaths are the people who are similar to a doctor, but the only difference between the two is that the naturopaths study some special set of courses about different herbs and natural ingredients which are useful to cure diseases. Naturopathic practitioners can be classified into two types - Traditional Naturopaths and Naturopathic physicians.

Naturopathic physicians are the ones who implement naturopathy with the tinge of conventional practice. Naturopathy believes in few principles. It believes in restoring the state of mind to remove discomfort. The discomfort may be due to an individual's lifestyle, hereditary or any other reason. It mainly concentrates on the whole body and not a particular disease or area. A naturopath may be considered as a helper or a guide who believes in the power of nature and uses the same to heal people. But today's conventional way of treatment deals with surgeries and chemicals instead of trusting the power of nature. Naturopathy completely understands the meaning of the line 'prevention is better than cure'.

Herbal medicines are the backbone for naturopathy. The study of herbal medicines is known as herbalism. However, herbal medicines may have a few side effects. Therefore, in order to overcome this, the company which is launching these medicines has to provide the proof of safe usage of the medicine.

Herbal medicines can be broadly classified into three categories; licensed herbal medicine, unlicensed herbal medicine and unregistered herbal medicine. The medicines are put into one of these categories based on some standard set of rules. If a medicine meets the standards set, and if it is capable of curing a specified disease, then that medicine will be licensed. The medicine should not give any side effects when used. Generally, it is very difficult for any medicine to fulfill all the specified requirements. Hence, the concept of registering the medicines came into picture. The standards set in this are a bit less when compared to the licensed ones, but the quality of the medicine has to be proved by the company in order to register it. Unlicensed medicines are the ones that failed to prove their identity. Any company before launching their medicine into the market should either have it licensed or registered. This clearly indicates that naturopathy is the healthiest and finest way to stay healthy.
