The type of eczema you have depends on the cause and where it occurs on your body.

Virgin coconut oil is very inexpensive and is therefore, a good, cheap home remedy. Many people think that eczema is contagious and on occasion a child might be unnecessarily sent home from school. Virgin coconut oil works better than commercial eczema creams, which are usually eczema products that are laden with chemicals, whether made for babies, teens or adults.

A child of school-age who has poor skin control can feel very isolated from his or her peers and can develop low self-esteem. For the local causes of eczema such as contact dermatitis, you want to avoid having your skin come in contact with the offending item, of course. If the eczema is on your hands, coconut oil will have to be applied to them more often.
