Having an SD card such as a SanDisk Extreme Pro CF is an incredibly useful item. This is something that you can use in order to increase the storage space on a vast range of your accessories and gadgets. For instance you can use a SanDisk Extreme Pro CF in order to give your smart phone more space and that then allows you to install more applications that have larger files as a part of them, to save more pieces of music for you to listen to, to take more photos without filling up the phone and even prevent it from crashing as often by giving it more space to use for other functions.

At the same time such a card in your camera might be entirely necessary for it to save any photos at all, as a lot of them don't have their own internal memory at all. Of course again the larger the amount of space on your camera, the more photos you will be able to take, and the less likely you'll be to find yourself unable to capture an amazing moment or an amazing sight because you've run out of space. There are countless other devices that can make a lot of use from a SanDisk Extreme Pro CF. Many of these will be items you have around your own home.

However what's also useful is to have spare SD cards and this is highly useful for a number of devices. For instance going back to the camera example, if you happened to be going on holiday, then even with a 64GB SD card there would be a chance that you would be able to fill it up if you made a lot of films, or took an awful lot of photos and had a very high resolution. This would then leave you at the end of that process unable to take any more photos – and you could imagine something very impressive going on and pulling out your camera only to find it full. This would leave you with the option of deleting footage, or missing the moment altogether. That's when having a spare SD card would be highly useful.

You can also imagine the same thing being highly useful with an MP3 player for instance. Here you might decide that you want to keep your entire collection of music on your player. This might not be possible with even a 64GB SD card, but with two or three you could definitely fit them all on – and because they're so small you could easily carry them all with you in your wallet or a single pocket. With multiple SD cards you could even back up your entire computer – and for most people a few SD cards will give them more space than they have on their own PC.

Then like anything, it's just useful to have a spare – imagining you lost your one SanDisk Extreme Pro CF, then you would not be able to use your MP3 player or camera until you found a spare one. If you bought a new item they would have to share. Both these scenarios can benefit from having a spare SD card.
