Clothing should be fun, it should help you improve your mood, it should make you look your best and compliment your body shape while it makes you feel good. If you can’t look in to your closet and find things that make you smile, it’s time to make some changes. Choose some very basic items from your closet, whether they fit you or not, whether they are in style or not doesn’t even matter. If you have jeans that are too short, make them shorter. If you favorite T shirt has a hole in it, sew and appliqué over it and go about your business in comfort. If you have a dress that is a little too tight across your mid section, use a wide belt or a cardigan over it to create the illusion that the dress fits correctly. The other thing you will need to do to truly create a perfect wardrobe is to add accessories to make the basic items you have look different each time you wear them.

Since vintage clothes are in right now, and will still be in the next season and the next, find some wide patented leather belts and shoes to pair with your outfits. You can go with timeless animal prints or solid black or even fire engine red to add a splash of colour to your style. Handbags to match are always a good idea. Play with what you already have before you shop for new and see just how creative you can get.
