Ireland sports a surreal appeal; after all, it is the land of the screaming banshees and the elusive will-o-the-wisp. Castle Leslie, situated on the expansive grounds of Glaslough, County Monaghan is not just another 5-star accommodation where you can pamper and indulge yourself. It is also the abode of the deceased members of the Leslie family. They frequent the nooks and crannies of the hotel and also reportedly use the toilets.

Across the choppy waters of the Irish Sea stands another haunted destination–the Langham Hotel in London, England. The supernatural sightings here are well-documented and thus attract a motley group of ghost-chasers from all around the world. The most famous other-worldly inhabitant of this hotel is Napoleon III, who has made the basement his home. Stories also abound about a certain Edwardian gentleman who takes form from a blaze of blinding light.

On the other side of the ocean, in the United States, stands hotel Hollywood Roosevelt, one of the more illustrious of these spooky accommodation destinations. The hotel was the venue for the first ever Academy Awards ceremony and the who’s who of Hollywood have stayed here. Some have continued to stay on, like Montgomery Clift. People still hear him play the bugle and rehearse his lines from the film From Here to Eternity. More star gazing is afforded by Marilyn Monroe, in suite 1200.
