When you think about it, a 64GB Compact Flash card is a truly amazing bit of kit. What you have here is a piece of plastic that is so slim and so small that it is roughly equal in size and weight to your fingernail. At the same time however it is also capable of carrying huge amounts of data – your entire CD collection, or several weeks worth of photographs. While its size makes it somewhat amazing though, the small and relatively thin material that makes an SD card also makes it vulnerable and particularly susceptible to potential damage – this plastic can very easily become lost or become damaged, and the files on it can become erased or lost too. As such then it is very crucial that you handle your 64GB Compact Flash card with care and that you know how to treat it. First of all when you are taking care of your 64GB Compact Flash card it is crucial to ensure that you keep it in the plastic container when you're not using it. If you should lose your container for your card then buy another. It will be cheaper than replacing the 64GB Compact Flash card and it will be less stressful than losing lots of personal information.

Another tip when using your card is to have it on 'read only' by default. This is a setting you can change by manipulating the physical card itself – and specifically by moving a switch which is located down one side. This will slide up and down and you should see written on the card which setting means the card is write protected and which opens it.
