Fashion fads pop in and fade out by the year, season or even sometimes by the month. With time, many people love to celebrate those glamorous or sometimes hideous fashions in the form of retro costumes. A retro costume can really be anything your heart desires as long as it's, well, retro. Choose whichever decade you love (or loathe) the most. From 20s flappers to 40s sexy sailor uniforms, 60s hippies (or war vets) or even the 80s hip hop scene. So grab your afro wigs, fish filled shoes, Cosby sweaters or whatever retro fashion you plan on sporting for your Halloween costume and celebrate your favorite decade. Just make sure you're rocking (or grooving) the night away in your retro costumes.

Today, the world retro just means old-fashioned or “classic” or “timeless” and can even refer to technological obsolescence or a life outlook from the past (traditional gender roles, etc...). Retro is usually used as a positive word, referring to quirky or attractive products that are no longer available. Whichever way you decide to use the word, consider retro costumes for your next Halloween costume party. If you want your costume to be totally authentic, you had better call grandma, aunt Sally or even ask your pops. Better yet, raid their closets!

Some choices could include: Big Daddy Purple Pimp, Sugar Bear Pimp, Sequin Pimp, Sugar Daddy Pimp John, Mens Platform Shoes, Purple Pimp Daddy Hat (you are on your own for the rest of this costume) and a Red Pimp Hat (same here). 80s costumes are always a big hit as well, primarily because many people LIVED them and though the fashions were the coolest and dare I say "modern".
