When one buys a car one does make a fairly detailed evaluation of the options that are available. And it is only after a careful and detailed study that one makes a final choice. Of course some persons seem to choose more quickly than others. It’s either that they can make the evaluations faster or that they accept someone else's research and recommendation. But cars in general are subjected to a detailed study before a choice is made.

Yet we do not buy a car that has all that we want. In fact often we are not even able to inform ourselves of all the things out there and don't even know of components that we want and are out there. After all even in car segments with a lot of competition there is a limited number of options. And also that we have to buy entire cars and we cannot buy one part of one car and another part of another car.

But in time we do learn of more options and it is possible that we wish we could have them. And the good news is that it is often possible to modify a car and add to it a feature that the stock car did not have. The challenge is only in informing yourself about such a component. Take for example High Intensity discharge headlights. Or HID headlights as they are called.

These HID headlights produce more light for the same amount of power consumed when compared to the traditionally used tungsten filament. They are also sometimes called xenon headlights since they use xenon gas to create the inert atmosphere. Xenon is preferred over argon since that enables the light to get to full intensity faster. These lights have a distinct bluish tinge.

Since the HID headlights deliver more power you can use headlights of a smaller size or you can use the headlights of the same size and enjoy the extra bright lighting.
