HBO comedy show Flight of the Conchords got its season two premiere and had over 260,000 stream views during the past fourteen days.
The comedy website Funny or Die was given the privalege of airing the show after an agreement between them and HBO. Unsurprising considering HBO has a stake in the website.
The idea of streaming the episode early on the cult website was intended to create a buzz about the show, which does’nt have the widespread appeal of more mainstream shows.
Funny or Die
Funny or Die is a well known comedy video’s site that was founded by Gary Sanchez productions owned by comedian Will Ferrell and partner Adam McKay. It contains both original and user generated video content. Videos that are voted as being ‘funny’ stay on the site and those that are’nt, die and go to the crypt.
During its first season on HBO, the show was seen by over a million viewers.
This continues the growing trend of premiering shows on the internet before hitting traditional TV’s.

Amazingly, UK broadband users are not enjoying the free benefits of Live Internet TV a survey has revealed. The report shows that a large majority of broadband connected customers from the UK for whatever reason are not viewing the free tv available.
It was found that the older users i.e parents arent making use of Live Internet tv. Probably due to already being in the habit of using TV recorders or watching on the next showing.
Live Internet TV is really taking off now, and the UK has a large selection of networks making content freely available. But the message is not filtering through to the oldies, however young people are getting into the habit of watching catch up episodes online.
The report shows that all that online work is so far been in vain. Most of the population are yet to take up the broadband Live Internetservices.
Part of the problem is due to the fact that watching Live Internet TV is a laborious business. Jumping from one website to another trying to find your show is not fun. So it still seems a little way off before watching catch up TV services via the net will be taking off.
Of course worldtv has just updated our International and UK Live Internet tv pages, putting direct links to all your shows right in front of you.

Rumours abound that Hulu’s internet TV may be coming to your Xbox 360. Xbox developer Microsoft suggested in a Newspaper interview that they may have a deal lined up with Hulu allowing Xbox 360 users to stream TV shows and movies straight to their Xbox 360.
Shane Kim from Microsoft has intimated that a deal will be done with Hulu, which would be Hulu’s only streaming partner. He said that they were also planning to add a music service to the Xbox 360 also
Microsoft want to team up with the major players such as Hulu and Youtube because, although there are plenty of TV streaming and video sites, the major content and traffic is going to these big players and they want to associate the Xbox with these expanding sites.
The deal, if done is a great move for both companie’s. Hulu could grab a massive Xbox audience already hooked up to broadband and increase their already over achieving advertising revenue. Microsoft could offer their army of fans an additional feature not available elsewhere by tapping into the massive Hulu catalogue of streaming TV shows and Live Internet TV services.
