The best time to start thinking about groomsmen gifts is 3-6 months before the wedding. Many grooms get so caught up in all the other decisions required of them during the wedding planning process that they either put off or forget about purchasing the groomsmen gifts. A guy named Richard might prefer Rich. You have to make sure you have this clear. They are done in the order of first name, middle name and last name. For a monogram, the letters are sized differently. The center letter is large in a monogram and represents the last name. So, the proper order for letters in a monogram are as follows: first name, last name, middle name. The last name is prominent and large. Once you understand the different between initials and monogram, you've learned the most complicated part of selecting engraved gifts.

Set your budget and stick to it. Can you afford $20 groomsman gifts? $40? $100? Pick your dollar amount per gift that you are comfortable spending. Try to look at only gifts in your price range. If you can only afford $20 per gift, you'll only bum yourself out and waste time if you're checking out stuff that is $100. That makes no sense.

The best thing to remember about buying your groomsmen gifts is to pick something that you yourself would probably think is cool or useful. And, do yourself a favor, don't wait until 3 days before your wedding to order the wedding party gifts.
