As previously reported, the third season finale of Grey’s Anatomy has left its viewers with many cliffhangers and much disappointment. Nearly every character on the popular medical drama has suffered a distressing plot.

However, in the case of Isaiah Washington’s character, Dr. Preston Burke, his conclusion brings in more controversy with his fate on the show.

Dr. Preston Burke’s ending has left viewers heartbroken and miserable when he decided to leave Christina at the altar. And now that he’s nowhere to be found, fans are now questioning if he’ll still return on Grey’s Anatomy’s season four.

If he doesn’t return, what will now happen to Preston-Christina love affair?

Although this hasn’t been confirmed yet, many speculate that Washington will still appear on the coming episodes of Grey’s Anatomy but not as a regular.

As a recurring character, he will gradually bring closure to his character plot.

Looking back, Washington has nearly ended his acting career with Grey’s Anatomy since he caused an anti-gay slur incident. This has caused him, as well as his fans, to question his future with Grey’s Anatomy. Although he has already taken some steps to alleviate the issue by making a public apology and going into rehab, there still seems to be some kind of awkwardness among the program’s cast members.

Another thing that makes Washington’s future with Grey’s Anatomy more uncertain is his salary negotiations with the series. In the contract negotiations that took place recently, his name has not been included.

Adding everything up, it’s not so surprising to learn that Washington would return as a recurring character or that he would possibly be extracted from the show.

Washington, a 43-year old native of Houston, Texas, has worked in films like Romeo Must Die, Dancing in September, The Color of Love, Land Where My Fathers Dies and Get on the Bus.
