The born of URBN hotel bring shock to the hotel industry. In recent years, carbon discharge is rapid increase in China; the concept of carbon neutral was first achieved, to reduce the emission load positively. Inspiration from city

The design of URBN applies the fragment and hard wood floor recycled from Shanghai old house. Whole applies natural material and use a large amount of brick, stone board, bamboo, Suzhou clay tile, even old leather suitcase, using the natural color and skin to bring historical sense. In the details, URBN hotel apply led, mirror and pull-tab with Chinese traditional style to reflect Orient quiet atmosphere. There are lots of bamboo in the forecourt of hotel and little courtyard of guest room, bringing a sense of tranquility just like Suzhou Gardens. The wall behind cashier desk is made by old leather case, conveying the information united with hotel: tradition, modern, travel luxury and environment protection. Raefer’s design inspiration is from Shanghai, aims to create a Shanghai experience which cannot express by words.

Green design

For a century, many designers design the hotel with an invariable concept. The hotels using up with lots of resources only use to supply sleeping for guest. Disproportionate resource utilization produce material consumption, which make hotel has no real connection with green. However, the design of Raefer Walls has an extrude expression on function use ration, run counter to the design of emphasizing bed, transfer the attention to leisure area, urge consumers to relax mind and body for entertainment and working, even business negotiation and meeting.

Raefer Walls even move the bathtub out from bathroom, separate a bathroom prefecture. At the same time of bathing, guests also can have a close relationship with nature. There is even provided with a shoes-taking off are, not only can bring oriental experience, but also can add close feeling to guest. On the parts of equipment, there applies with large amount of passive solar energy scuttle, water system air conditioner with heat recover ventilation installation, low VOC paint, the hotel swear to green to the end.

Carbon neutral hotel

URBN hotel ensure every guest has 6 square meter green space. Before design, architects have responsibility to merge with factors of society, health, resource and culture to achieve sustainable building.
