Cheap On-Shore Excursions

When your cruise ship pulls into the port, saving money on your activities can be tough. While on a vacation, you want to make sure you do the most exciting, fun and least expensive excursion as possible. If you're on a budget you're going to have to dig around to find deals on the premier excursions. Doing research with friends and online can lead you to some great excursions that no one else on the ship will get to experience. Not only are private and hidden excursions much more intriguing, they're also a great deal cheaper and can even be bartered with. Being adventurous can also pay off by trekking to distant or remote excursions that most on the ship won't even know of. Keep in mind the time and location that your cruise ship leaves and what it will take to get back on board in time. Having an idea of where you're going and how long it will take you to get back to your ship can save you money and a headache. Transportation by private boat back to the cruise ship is very expensive.

Private excursions are usually less expensive

Early purchase and reservation can save you money and stress instead of waiting to buy on the cruise. Ship sponsored or private, they all have specials and bundle packages. Typically, since there is only a certain amount of spots available for each excursion, booking early is the best way to save. Talking with friends or family about recommended excursions is another great way to find more fun for your dollar on excursions that aren't as popular. Booking your excursion in advance as opposed to booking on board the ship, or at your port of call will save you money. Save money by purchasing in advance, cruise companies can over charge simply because you're stuck on a boat and have no other option. If for some reason you want to change or cancel your excursion or the weather doesn't allow you to enjoy it, excursion companies will typically refund your money or let you exchange for a different excursion. Just take the stress out of your trip and book in advance to avoid any problems.

Cruises for Singles

Cruises are a great way to travel and party with your friends or lover and meet others who are looking to have a good time. Splitting costs of rooms is the first way to travel for less. It is much more expensive to have your own room on board than it is to share a room. Of course, rooming with someone you know would be ideal and be safer as well. Very little time is spent in your room, but more so spent on shore or partying. Private or upgraded rooms on a young adult or single cruise are a waste of money as they're typically only used for sleeping and showering. Finding groups of people to spend time with can be a big money saver as well if you take advantage of spending time by the pool or watching sports. Captain's parties with free liquor are a blessing for cruisers on a budget and typically happen only once a cruise. Meet as many people as you can, as on shore excursions and hotels cost much less for large groups. You can arrange group excursions and splitting hotel bills with other singles looking to budget through an on-board concierge.

Cheap Airfare to fly to cruise departure location

Traveling to your departure port can sometimes be more costly than the cruise itself. Booking your cruise around a time when air travel is least expensive may be the best way to save money on your trip. Typically those who live close to their departure port save a great deal as opposed to those who have to fly. As with any travel, the further out that you can book the trip, usually the better deal you will get. All-inclusive travel deals or discounted packages are sometimes available through the travel company you book your cruise through. If no specials are available from the travel company or worth using, compare several airlines and airports to fly into. Research flight dates as well, a flight a day prior and a stay in a hotel or with family may be cheaper than flying on the day of your departure. Being flexible and matching the cheapest flight with a good deal on a cruise is something that takes a lot of work, but it can save you a good deal of money if done correctly.
