The Pros and cons of Marble

For a start, Marble is a metamorphic pebbles. Its basic ingredient are found everywhere from limestone to help baking soda, from

calcium carbonate to lime (white wash). The basic ingredient moves many other names based on its application and its form. Limestone, a sedimentary version of calcium, which is found naturally inside earth, undergoes intense heat and pressure within the earth to be formed into what we know as marble.

This rock is usually exposed to heat and grinding to become filler ingredient for treatments, writing paper, plaster involving

Paris, calcium (white wash), together with cement hardener. This translates that marble, although beautiful and durable, is porous and easily destroyed by any type of acid, heat, or water. Even with a seal coating applied religiously on a yearly basis, no types of chemicals are useful to wash the countertops created from it. It cannot get much abuse from water, acids such as lemon or orange juice, or high heat from pans. These will all eliminate the seal coating along with the marble beneath.

Since marble can be so porous, it is also easily stained. One single scratch allows liquids or even oxidation in the air to

leak beneath the seal coating and stain the marble. This doesn't mean that it truly used. Marble is well suited for use in low targeted visitors areas or for sculpting amazing art out of. But for the high traffic usage of a kitchen countertop, a floor, or a bathroom countertop, marble just suggests high maintenance.

While it is not perfect, granite holds up better in high traffic uses including counter tops and flooring. If properly cared for, granite may not need to be resealed every year.
