The battle for control over the future of television - online TV - is well underway. Google TV is arriving very soon, and is certainly turning heads. That said, Apple have plans of their own, and Apple TV is full-steam ahead. But before you start picking a winner/loser, there are huge differences between both ventures you need to take into account.

To make a fair comparison between the two, it's important first to understand the intentions of both services. While Google is primarily interested in generating pay-per-click advertising revenue by displaying Ads on content, Apple are purely motivated to sell content, with Apple TV essentially acting as a storefront for iTunes.

The end result is you'll be able to freely browse and watch content on Google TV, as they hope people will click their Ads. But if you're using Apple TV, you'll have to pay. But you won't have the Ads. Ultimately, in this department, I can see Google doing very well, as most people really don't want to pay for online content.

The second thing you need to take into account when making a comparison is the power of both models. And this is where Google is again proving to be the clear winner. As you know, not everything you browse comes ready in movie or audio format. That's why you need a web browser. Google TV has a web browser but Apple TV doesn't. Why Apple hasn't thought to include this is beyond me.

The third difference between both technologies - and this is where Apple is surprisingly far behind - is the applications it supports. Google TV will be able to run Android apps as it runs on Android. Surprisingly, Apple offers no support for applications. This is really strange, considering it was the cornerstone of their success with the iPhone.

Finally, the last difference between the two is the price points for the hardware. Although Google TV hardware will come pre-installed in many top-name consumer electronics brands in the future, right now you need to buy a set-top box made by Logitech. At a whopping $299, it's clearly a lot less competitive than Apple's $99 box. But that just might not be enough for Apple to get ahead.

In summary, both Google TV and Apple TV essentially do the same thing: allow you to play music, video, games and photos on your Television set. It's how the content is delivered (free or paid) and how you find it (search the web or scroll listings) that will be the key difference. In all honesty, with the above points taken into account, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who the clear winner is here.

Computer TV softwares are programs that you download on the internet to be able to view satellite TV on your computer. The softwares are developed in such a way, that they bring together many free world satellite TV channels through the internet.

While there are some good-value-for-money TV softwares for computers, there are also others that do not work. There are some softwares that will only give you international TV stations and a few local free to air TV networks in the USA.
