Good Ab Workouts For A Slim Midsection - By: Nick Andrade

Ready for a few good ab workouts to help jump-start your ab training and make it more effective? If that's the case, you’re definitely not the only one. Of course the desire to get six pack abs is nearly universal at this point, it’s definitely a fact that most people don't even have a clue when it comes to designing an effective ab work out.

In order to help out, I've listed a few awesome abdominal programs that isolate all of the ab muscles in your ab area, making sure that you’ll actually move closer to getting those six pack abs you’ve always envied.

Before we get into the good ab workouts, it’s critical that you understand up front that it really doesn’t matter how you train your abdominal region, if you’re not going to pay attention to your diet. Sure you actually do need to perform a couple of ab training workouts in order to build up your abdominal region, you’re just not going to be able to see them until you melt off the fat that’s all around them in the first place! The only way to make this happen is to make a plan to strip off fat all over your body.

If you really want to melt off body fat, you’re going to need to pay close attention to what you’re eating every day in addition to performing free weights workouts that target the stronger muscle groups on your body. So definitely be prepared to change up your menu a little bit and commit to working the biggest muscles on your body like your; legs, back, chest, shoulders etc. Focusing your training efforts on the bigger muscle groups burns more energy witch forces you to cut off more fat. And the more fat you can get rid of, the more eye-catching your six pack abdominals will be!

Good Ab Workouts That Are Effective

I really think that the ab workout programs listed below are all you really need in order to carve out awesome six pack abdominals. If you focus the majority of your training on your diet and total body workouts and you also make it a priority to sprinkle in a few decent ab workouts each week, you will start to expose your abs and move towards your goal of a sexier and firmer mid section.

Don’t try and train your abdominals every day of the week! Not only is it a waste of your time, but you’ll be negatively affecting the amount of body fat you’re able to burn – instead of focusing on the bigger muscles in your body, you’ll be performing exercises that don’t require nearly as much effort to complete.

Your Good Ab Workout #1

Hanging Knee Raises – 3 sets x 8-12 reps
Saxon Side Bends – 3 Sets x 8-12 reps
Weighted Crunches – 3 Sets x 8-12 reps

Your Good Ab Workout #2

Hip Thrusts - 3 sets x 8-12 reps
Medicine Ball Russian Twists – 3 sets of 8-12 reps
Swiss Ball Crunches – 3 sets of 8-12 reps

Try to do each of these abdominal exercises with enough weight to give your ab muscles a reason to grow! Rest for 1 – 2 minutes between sets and really try to focus on feeling the muscle contract during each repetition. Perform each rep in complete control over the movement – do not use training weights that are overly heavy or use bad form or you’ll eventually wind up injuring your abdominal muscles.

There you have it…a few good ab workouts that are simple yet effective. Pick one and find time for it in the beginning of the week, then move on to the next abdominal workout after a few days of rest. Stick with the six pack abdominal tips listed above, (and make sure not to go crazy and train your mid section every day!) over time, you will be able to build an amazing six pack.
