This particular breed of dogs has been bred by the Chukchi people in Alaska and originally cold weather dwellers. Siberian Huskies was originally bred as working dogs. They are tough dogs that can be a great companion for work and friendly enough for the family.

The Chukchi tribe has other names for their Siberian Huskies. These dogs are also known as Chukcha and Chuksha. They are also commonly called by foreigners as Husky or Icee. A Siberian Husky can live between 10 to 15 years. Dogs like these can grow to 20 to 23 inches tall. The usual weight for a healthy Siberian Husky is 35 to 60 pounds.
