According to the states law, your child is entitled to full time education up to the age of nineteen (19), and you are responsible for their education up till the age of sixteen (16). Being a parent, everyone desires to choose the best for his or her children. But it is not always possible for both to settle down on a single point. You have often seen that the children disagreeing with what you think are best for them. The main purpose of sending your child to school is to educate them, to have some sort of qualification at the end of their education. But what do we mean qualification and how can we provide them the best of what is necessary for them?

Qualification for most of the people is nothing more than the earned certificates showing the exam success during the educational period. This is true to some an extent, as many jobs and opportunities still demand the specific number of examination passes or you can say to take admission in college or university these certificates are required to show your educational background. But this is not true for most of the jobs and opportunities. There are universities and colleges, where there is no compulsion to show your examination passes or certificates for enrollment. The only thing required is your basic understanding and knowledge related to that particular field, your enthusiasm and application. If you can prove these, you are allowed to sit in the classes.

The trend has been changed significantly for last ten or twenty years. Skills are given more importance over education. Though many have the higher degrees but yet they are without the jobs with lack of qualification. Degrees and certificates are no more the key to success.

It is now better to differentiate between higher qualification and higher degrees. Having higher degrees alone not at all guarantees you to find a good status and good job, unless you have higher qualification as well. In the past higher qualification simply means having higher educational degrees, but nowadays the trend has changed and the higher qualification is associated with skills, reason ability, understanding, your strong observation powers and most of all your practicality. Job merit nowadays is determined on the basis of these key factors rather than examination passes. Many youngsters with higher educational backgrounds find themselves in a position where they are outclassed by less qualified colleague in terms of practical experience. It is now possible for the a young boy of sixteen year of age having natural abilities to take full gain of on job training and eventually end up better equipped than a person who has gone the full route of education.

In our age of mass production, we have seen that the demand for handmade goods or personalized services has increased twofold. That is the reason that the young lads having enhanced skills or capitalistic mind are in much demand in sellers’ market. To conclude we can say that education alone is nothing; our kids need a comprehensive exposure to the out world along with qualification. They need to be trained to face the challenges of the world.
